Attached, raised or standalone?
Attached spas sit flush with the pool and share water; raised spas sit above the pool and spill into it; standalone spas are separate structures with their own equipment.
- Attached / flush — cleanest look, simplest hydraulics, best for modern geometric pools
- Raised with spillway — the most requested; creates sound, a visual focal point and a seat wall edge
- Standalone gunite spa — for yards with no pool, or where the spa needs to sit near the house
- Cold plunge — increasingly requested alongside the spa on the same equipment pad
