What the base pool price includes
A base pool price should cover excavation, steel, gunite or shotcrete shell, plumbing, standard equipment, plaster interior, waterline tile and coping.
If a bid is meaningfully cheaper than others, the difference is almost always in what was left out — decking, electrical runs, equipment upgrades, or the plaster allowance.
Ask every builder to price the same scope. That's the only way three bids are actually comparable.
- Excavation and haul-off
- Steel and engineered shell
- Plumbing, standard pump, filter and heater
- Plaster interior, waterline tile and coping
- Startup and water chemistry balance
