Artificial turf seems simple: remove grass, lay turf, done. But I've replaced more turf than I've installed fresh—and every failure has the same cause: poor preparation.
What's Under Your Turf Matters Most
Base Material
We install 3-4 inches of compacted decomposed granite. This provides drainage, prevents settling, and creates the smooth base that makes turf look natural.
Drainage
Turf is porous, but water needs somewhere to go. We ensure the subgrade drains properly so you don't get puddles or mud.
Weed Barrier
Commercial-grade weed fabric beneath the base prevents anything from growing through your turf—forever.
Quality Turf
We use name-brand turf with proper blade density, realistic coloring, and UV stability. Cheap turf fades, flattens, and looks fake within years.
We redid the deck, artificial turf, and pavers. On the front yard, they did a great job on pavers and turf. — Brooke W.
💡 Pro Tip
If you have pets, ask about antimicrobial infill and proper drainage—both are essential for odor control.

Yes, it can get warm in direct sun. We recommend shade structures or lighter colored turf for high-sun areas.
How do I maintain artificial turf?
Occasional rinsing and brushing to keep blades upright. Much easier than real grass!
